It is very well run and you can just use the centre premises (bar, chairs, showers, etc) or you can rent diving gear and join the organized diving sessions or PADI courses of any kind of difficulty. They also rent masks, fins, snorkel and there is a catwalk providing an easy access into the sea right across the coral reef. Canyoning is new in Jordan, but the canyons are gorgeous. "Jumping off the cliff into a pool of warm water" describes it very well! The hot springs are all along the edge of the Rift Valley, most of them are in the unfrequented valleys, running down to the Dead Sea. This is a marvellous activity for sporting people, in good physical condition! It can involve several days, or just one, and it brings you into contact with the local Bedouin as well; They are the only people anywhere near these canyons. Posted by Lulu
If you are doing this without a guide you will need both wet suits and abseiling gear. Pierre Voignier, a French mountain guide, UIAGM qualified, brings groups here each year, and is also based in Wadi Rum when he is not in the canyons. See his website below Leave a Comment Theme: Extreme SportsDirections: There are canyons in the Petra area as wellWebsite: www.lizard-life.com

Aqaba don't have as many fishes as the Egypt side of the Red sea but in Aqaba the coralls are excelent. The best divesites are south of Aqaba. There is a wreck, a tank, turtels, porkypine fishes, pufferfishes, christmastree worms, Uppside-down jellyfishes, Peppered Morays and much more. You can read about the differente divesites at: www.jordanjubilee.com/outdoors/reefs.htm#top%20of%20page (from Ruth's page). I dived with Seastar divingcenter wich is a very good divingcenter. They visit all divesites south of Aqaba and have good equipment. The divingcenter is lokated in Alcazar Hotel. They have also got the club Murjan where you can have lunch and stay by the pool between the dives. Price: I booked via internet and paid 290 JD for 7 nighets at Alcazar Hotel with 10 dives. Plus 60 JD for full Equipment hire.
You can rent the equipment at SeaStar divingcenter. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba DivingAddress: SeaStar is lokated in Alcazar Hotel, AqabaPhone: +962-3-201-4131Website: www.seastar-watersports.com Other Contact: alcsea@alcazar.com.jo

(That stone in front, was a normal one 5 mnts ago,try to keep it in water 5 mnts, then take it out,see the difference, covered by salt).. Infact, nothing to describe, cos cudnt see any activity at Jordan side of deadsea, they were building some hotels and at the other side,Israel, they already built some torusitic places. If you dunno swimming this is the place where YOU CAN SWIM,cos you feel how to sleep or just sit ( ! )on the saltiest water (27 %). If you like try to dive,,,i bet you can...
No need any equipment to walk on it...barefoot is ok.. Leave a Comment Theme: Boating/Sailing
