You can stay in the camping in the village, or as I made, sleep in the desert, under the stars, but don't forget a sleeping bag. (The night could be chilly.) Leave a Comment Theme: CampgroundComparison: least expensive

The night we were supposed to stay at Abu Rami camp there was some groups and a kind of party was being prepared. As we had an heavy program for the next day, We asked Abu Rami to find us a solution to sleep away from noise. Fortunately, he has a "small" tent by a bedouin "location". It was so quiet there even if some car were passing by during the night. Breakfast was taken at the main camp site.

We booked our whole Wadi Rum experience through www.bedouintales.com. The reason for this is beacause we wanted to spend 2 days and a night out there. There arent any hotels or hostels as such, so most people book through a company. I learnt of Bedouin Tales through Lonely Planets Thorn Tree, a lady on there had travelled into Wadi Rum with them many times, when I was there and mentioned her name they remembered her well!
So, we made our own way to Wadi Rum and out again, our price included a full fay Jeep Safari, a full day camel Safari, Lunch, Breakfast, Dinner and a night in the Bedouin Tent. I must say, when we got there I was suprised to see that this place had a feeling like it had been set up just for the tourists that they get? Im not sure, One of the guys who worked for the company lived in Rum Village, the others claimed that they were Bedouin and lived in the tent....I guess we will never know! Facilities wise...you are in the desert....dont expect a shower....most of the day toilets will be little areas of sand in the desert.....when we got to camp they had a portaloo kind of thing. One things for sure though, it was a totally amazing experience.....Bedouin Tents are made of goats hair, and in the very cold desert night air they are very warm indeed. I would reccommend spending the night out here to anyone, this is one of the highlights of my entire trip, its so dark out there, theres no noise and there are so many stars....I never realised that the world could be so quiet before I came here.....its a must see... There is nothing about here that makes it stand out appart from it being the only accomodation in town. The only other option being sleeping in the desert, either independently (free) or with the bedouin in a camp (super pricey). Payed 2JD for a mattress on the roof. They also had tents in the back you could rent, or if you brought your own, a place to pitch yours. Not sure of the price on this though. Leave a Comment

We were supposed to spend a night there. Looking at the camp, I guess it is ok.
ok food, decent facilities, reasonable price Leave a Comment Theme: CampgroundPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Disi villageDirections: Go to DIsi village, at the end of the village, turn right and go around the mountain and you will find few campgrounds. Abu Rami's one is the last one.

The night would be all about making the fire, preparing the tea, telling stories .... drinking tea, more stories & more tea .... You'll be sitting on the sand .... under a dome of uncountable stars .... You'llwake up to the steps of the guide walking away to get the wood.... you'll open your eyes only to realize it is only 5.00am!! He will come back & starts preparing the bread ... hmmmm that smell ...... right from scratch!!!! he will build the fire right from scratch as well! And that breakfast is one of them reasons why I still go to Wadi Rum ;)
You get to experience the roughness & beauty of living in the desert. Theme: CampgroundAddress: The desert!!!!!!!Directions: If you're with a local bedouin guide, ask him to sleep in a traditional tent rather than the ones they build for tourists ... You'll have though to be aware that you're a guest ... so it's nice if you take part in the action and get your hands wet ;)
