 | Petra Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 72 | | The perfect place to stay at Petra, just at the entrance and with all the comforts that one can wish. Swimmingpool, sauna, a very good restaurant, good service ... a wonderful breakfast buffet, shops, the most beautiful terrace-bar at the top, exquisite decoration... Its true that next time I'll go I will search for something diferent, perhaps sleep at the desert ... wowowwwww ... but if what you want is a good place to rest your sore body this is a good option just at the entrance

Flying with Royal Jordanian to India, we took the option to do the stopover program: stay 2 days in Petra and we chosed this great hotel . The best are all: the lamps and beautiful details everywhere. Of course all the staff and the facilities.
Great views to the mountains and the village. A brilliant expirience. The terraze was expectacular day and night. Sauna, Gym, Outdoor Swimminpool. Fantastic breakfast......fantastic juices...... SMALL detail: in the room there was a small paper where you can donate money for the iraki children. This is a lovely hotel. It's about 12km out of Petra but the view and the ambience make up for any inconvenience of location. All the rooms were once the little houses of an Ottoman village, all are simply but comfortably furnished in traditional style. Some have views of the wadi, others are tucked away in quiet little courtyards - all have bags of character. There's a good restaurant where a huge buffet is served or you can order a simpler meal a-la-carte. Breakfast on the terrace makes a super start to the day. I will certainly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is prepared to pay extra for something special.
The hotel is run on strict ecologically aware lines and lays a very low footprint on the earth it stands on. There's a nice pool that the staff were happy to open for us even though it was a little early in the season. There are lots of small terraces where you can sit and watch the sun go down. It is a lovely, tranquil place. Leave a Comment

This very nice hotel is locate in Wadi Mousa, about 4 km to Petra. Just few meters from the entrance of the hotel there is the Fountain of Moses where he found water!!! You can see a nice panorama on Wadi Mousa from the hotel. Bedrooms are very nice and clean with all the conforts of a 4 stars hotel like safety box, hair drier, mini bar... You can taste good local food and also international ones. A nice place where you can relax after the visit of Petra!! Leave a Comment

Araba Hotel is a friendly and cheap hotel high up in Wadi Mousa. The view is fantastic. Breakfast is served on the balkony (at least in summertime) and dinner, togheter with all other guests at the hotel, is served on the roof. It's very nice to sit on the roof having a coffee or tea watching the sunset over the mountains after a long day of walking in Petra. I can't remember what I paid for a room but whene I checked out I paid 24 JD for three nights, two dinners and two bottles of water. At Araba they can help you organise with a reliable guide in Wadi Rum (desert trip by jeep or camel). Had a nice terrace with a view onto Wadi Musa and the entrance to Petra. Buffet dinner at 7:00pm. Bed in dorm for 2JD. It is at the end of the street.

Initially I didn’t plan to stay here but didn’t get much choice when I realized the other hotel didn’t accept my credit card and I was not able to withdraw any cash from the bank machine with my regular card (ouch!). At the end, it was not such a bad deal, the price of the room was 18JD, down to 15JD because I was staying 3 nights. For that price, no extra comfort than what is strictly needed. The bed is quite hard and the shower quite basic! However it was clean and by contrast to the outside pretty well decorated inside. The breakfast is included as well but nothing fancy, not really high gastronomy here. The good point is that if you have to skip it, no big deal, you don’t miss too much!!
The staff was really friendly as well. They can prepare a lunch box if you ask for it (3JD) and apparently trips to Wadi Rum can be organized from the reception… A huge advantage: it is located only 200meters from the Visitor’s Center!! The Petra Moon Hotel is a small two star level, family hotel, comfortable and unpretentious and friendly. If you are staying for more than one night they will give a discount.
The great advantage of this hotel is that it is in comfortable walking distance from the entrance to Petra. Most of the other hotels nearby are much more expensive. This hotel is in fact a conversion of the original village of Taybeh. ("Zaman" means "old") The old houses have been restored as hotel rooms, and a percentage of the profit from the hotel is paid to the original owners. The conversion has tried in every way to keep the character of a small village rather than a hotel.
