I stayed here for over a week. It was situated a little close to the local mosque which starts its morning prayer at 4am, but I got used to this very quickly. Ok, the air conditioning was exactly cold either, but for £10 a night for a double room, I wasn't complaining. The thing that made this place special was the staff, specifically the manager, Fayez. He ended up driving me 40 kilometres to the Israeli border to continue my travels at 7am, having spent all night chatting to me about what I could expect to find there. He was very helpful, friendly and spoke very good english. There was also a fantstic humous and falafel stand opposite the hotel, which I never got tired of! We spent our third night in this nice, clean, comfortable and central hotel in Madaba. The owners are very kind and we enjoyed our stay a lot. In Easter the hotel was always full (we were very lucky to find a room free) so book in advance if you can. You can't escape, the owner will offer you some sweets every time he meets you. I stayed at the Farah Hotel on my second visit to Amman following a recomendation from someone I had met in Petra. This place is much better than the crappy Cliff Hotel which I was in first time I was here. The rooms were clean and the hotel was well situated close to where all the shared taxis departed. This four star hotel in Aqaba is in the center of the town and near the beaches. It hasn't got a private beach. It's sorrounded by lots of restaurants and cafeterias. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelAddress: Aqaba

There are a few options re accommodation in Karak to be found round the castle or one or two places on the King's Highway (but which are a long way out of town). None of the central places are that appealing, but arguably the best of an unexciting bunch is the Government Guest House. Built virtually into the rock face and part of the castle complex, the hotel commands spectacular views across the valley. Its clean, all rooms are en-suite. Nothing more, nothing less. Pretty basic stuff but perfectly acceptable place to stay overnight.
Great views (as long as the wind allows you to open the shutters!) Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Castle complex
