 | Jordan Reviews | Tips 21 - 30 of 131 | | Petra is the capital of tourism in Jordan, and hotels are spreading over the hills. The newest ones stand some kilometres far from the Visitor Centre, so you must decide carefully about your preferences: either the probable better conditions of the new hotels, or the accessibility of the old ones. I stood at Crown Plaza, which stands right beside the Visitor Centre. The only critic I have to make is the small size of the room and bathroom. It was difficult to open two bags at the same time, and to share the bathroom. But everything else was excellent. I was travelling in a 5 stars program, and despite the hotel rated only 4 stars, I didn't complaint. The food was good, the pool overlooking the canyon felt like Eden after the exhaustive visit of Petra, and the service was professional and kind. A little walk after diner gave us the chance of joining the popular party in the streets of town. It was nice and funny. Leave a Comment

Dana Tower Hotel is a really nice hotel in the old stonevillage Dana. After travelling around their "tent" is the perfect place to relax in. It is such a peaceful place. The walking in the Nature Reserve is also good. Nabil and Hamzi at the hotel are very helpful and will make you feel very welcome. This is a hotel to return to. If the budget will stretch to it, the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort hotel is totally geared to pleasure. With a private stretch of beach on the Dead Sea you take your salt scrub and mud pack (and obligatory photo of you floating on the water) or you can opt for a similar treatment in the luxurious spa. Ask for a room on the pool side - the view is better and here are lovely deep balconies from which to enjoy the gorgeous sunset before you head off to the bar or one of the many restaurants for dinner. One small word of warning - weekends can be very busy, the hotel is usually full then, but if that is the only night you have, avoid the north sea-side rooms if you want a good night's sleep -the disco is on that side!
There are several restaurants and bars to choose from, 3 swimming pools and a beautiful spa. One pool is salt - the Dead Sea can get choppy in the late afternoon, making "swimming" unpleasant. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable - it's exactly as you would expect a 5 star hotel to be. What makes it different from a thousand other similar resorts is the Dead Sea itself. There isn't another place on earth like it. Leave a Comment

We stayed at the Regency Palace Hotel in Amman, a very nice Hotel mainly for business-people. This was the view out of my room early in the morning. From a nearby mosque the muezzin was calling the people for prayer. Shortly afterwards a cock was crowing. I was so happy to be in Jordan!
TV! There were about 35 programms on the TV. Channels from all Muslim countries. I was fascinated to watch programms from Sudan, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Emirates, Egypt and so on. And even an Israeli programm! And of course all the International channels like CNN... I just could not stop watching TV, even though I did not understand a single word of the Arabic programms. Very interesting! Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Amman, Shmeisani - Amman's business centerWebsite: www.hyatt.com
